Nigeria missing Salesforce in the success of "made in Nigeria product" purhase

With the ever increasing calls on Nigerians to buy Locally made products, it seems the impact hasn't much been felt as local manufacturers still lament on poor sales turnout.

President Buhari has spoken in favour of it and the Vice president seems to be in tune with him. Few Nigerians have recently come out to promote made made in Nigeria products. but what could still be the reason for the sluggish growth in that area?  Nigeria's import bill seems to be skyrocketing when as a matter of fact it should be declining. Very few people still go for naija made products and the answer is quite simple here. There are simply no sales force .

As far back as 1974 with factories operating in parts of Lagos and Port Harcourt producing toiletries, consumer goods e.t.c when several efforts were put in place to catapult this sector to an impressive height from  the Gowon administration which launched a Buy Made In Nigeria Promotion. Murtala Mohammed and Obasanjo kept the campaign alive ; likewise Buhari and Babangida. Few of those factories remain open today; one notable miss has been the textile mills.

Secondly Being patriotic wouldn't get any one to buy a made in Nigeria product not even when the President or the Senate are asking to. No. That's not going to happen. And that's a mistake Nigerians make.

So painstakingly, Nigeria needs an aggressive Salesforce to Market whatever product it's produced within Her shores.
