Nigeria booked a place in the World Cup after a 73rd minute goal from Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi who was a late substitute in saturday's game played in Uyo.
The game with both team threatening at intervals but With the clock ticking and the game destined to end in favour of the Chipolopolo who had been the better of the two sides in the first half after a powered shot which rattled the left woodwork sent a warning to the Super Eagles. Following the second half kick off, they seemed to striffle the Super eagles who found it an enormous task to keep hold of the ball. And time was a Luxury no one had.
Gernort Rhor turned to Alex Iwobi who produced an immediate impact on the game troubling Zambia's backline with his pace. His Introduction some how changed the atmosphere as the Nigerian team now had the ball on their feet also pressing high.
His late Inclusion would then pay off when he smashed home a low drive shot from inside the box after the Zambian defenders failed to clear their line.
Nigeria now joins other team like Brazil, Mexico, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, England, Germany, South Korea, Japan who have all qualified for the elite game in Russia.
